FCT Unveils 2026 Hajj Fares with December Deadline
Approved Hajj Fare for 2026 Released
The FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has officially announced the approved hajj fare for the 2026 pilgrimage, which stands at N8,244,813.67. This amount is crucial for all intending pilgrims to note as they prepare for their religious journey.
In a statement, the Director of the Board, Mallam Kadiri Edah, emphasized the importance of completing the payment before the end of December this year. He urged those planning to undertake the hajj to ensure they meet the deadline in order to be included in the list of pilgrims for the 2026 exercise.
Mallam Edah also highlighted that prospective pilgrims can make a deposit now and complete the full payment before the deadline. This step is essential to secure a seat for the pilgrimage. He noted that the Board will use the payments to compile an accurate list of participants and remit the funds to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
Payment Procedures and Refunds
All payments must be made via bank draft, as the Board does not accept cash transactions. This policy ensures transparency and security in handling the funds. The Director reiterated that all payments need to be completed before the deadline to allow the Board sufficient time to process the information and forward it to the relevant authorities.
Additionally, Mallam Edah requested individuals who have paid more than the actual hajj fare to provide their account details to the Board. This will enable them to receive a refund for the excess amount. He clarified that refunds will only be issued directly into the accounts of the intending pilgrims, with no cash transactions allowed.
Document Processing and Requirements
For those who have already completed their payments, the Director advised them to submit their international passports and the completed forms to their respective area officers. This step is necessary for the Board to process the required travel documents before the deadline.
The Board’s procedures are designed to streamline the pilgrimage process, ensuring that all participants are well-prepared and that the necessary documentation is in order. By following these guidelines, pilgrims can avoid last-minute complications and focus on the spiritual aspects of their journey.
